The house of the scorpion is a great book, the setting is in between Mexico and America. At the beginning of this book the setting starts off in a little house in the poppie fields. As the book goes on the setting changes, from a little house to a very large house with a beautiful garden. Many people live in the house so the house must be much bigger then an average house. One part of the book, Matt and Tam lin go through the poppie fields to get to this beautiful little pond. Much can change though through out the rest of the book.

ReplyDelete4. The name of the book could be related to the setting because Matt is inside a house full with people that don't like him and don't want him around. This is like being in a house of scorpions because they wouldn't like you ether.
6. If there was no setting the book would be completly different because every book needs a place where everything is happening and not just floating in space.

ReplyDelete3:Maybe her life stories and or experiences prompted her to pickthis certain setting.
9:I think the setting would change drastically as everyone would either be in hiding or the males of the familly would be fighting in the war and Matt would not have broken the window and climbed out and so the story would have been completly different.
1. this setting reminds of a TV show were a cat named Sylvester chased speedy Gonzalez.I don't know why i thought of this, maybe it's because in the begging Matt was thinking about smellier TV shows.
ReplyDelete5. if the setting was changed from Mexico to Canada then there would be no deserts and almost none would speak Spanish. Also im sure they would take the winter into consideration.
8.if the story was based in 1970 there would be no story. Matt would not exist for he is a clone and clones are impossible during that time period.
10. If Matt was raised in a barn instead of Celia's shake not much would change unless it was a different care taker. say instead of Celia who treats him like a normal child we got a man who treats him like a barn animal. then we would see a significant difference.
10. House instead of shake (this is Jeremy)
Delete7. Well that depends on the time period, the ways the book will change is that either they will be in the past and the technology will be less advanced or the will be in the future and the technology will be more advanced, also the way people think about clones in the book may also change, they may now accept clones and the book will have a different problem.
